I've just read through all the posts since last I was here. Although I'll not be replying to any individual post, here's wishing you all much joy and peace and love. Newsletter #223

How interesting. Although I've done the traditional finger tapping, I didn't know about your second version of finger tapping, the one-handed system. So that was fun! It took a bit of getting used to, but I really enjoyed doing the one-handed version with both hands. Loved taiking to my cells as well. Nili, thanks for the serenity prayer/5 fingered tapping combo. Newsletters #221 and #222

Oops... I lost my notes on #221 and #222, so I've chosen to listen again to these sessions. #221 is so not about me. I happen to be a very persistent person, don't do 'boring', I'm very good at saying no and I always put my priorities first. Yesterday I listened to newsletter #220, a Dr Phil day session. Your advice was really appreciated, Nili. What I took from it was that I should stay in the moment, and not make food my focus. BTW the first habit I've chosen to break is not to read or watch TV while eating. And so far, so good. I listened to #218 yesterday morning, but did not get a chance to respond before now as my daughter needed my help with a couple of time-consuming chores! Whenever I hear the word deprived, I'm tempted to add "and depraved". It was a term often used by a dear friend who passed away last year, and one that I adopted, that became our private code for someone who was acting like a victim. It was all in jest! My daughter, with whom I'm staying while in Cape Town, asked me to put up a curtain rail in her new healing room late yesterday afternoon. As it was a last minute request, AND I had to make do with a stool instead of a ladder, AND she did not have the correct size bits for her electric drill, I really felt the heat to get the job done before her client arrived. Thanks, Nili, for the re-send. Wouldn't it be nice... Wow! I did this exercise twice, yesterday and today and both times I yawned throughout, an indication to me that something definitely happened! I also added more statements related to my resistance to exercise. Oops... I missed seeing your latest newsletter yesterday, Nili, but I stumbled across it this morning while filing my email messages! How absolutely interesting. Whoo hoo!!! I stepped on the scales today and was shocked and stunned to see that I'd lost a kg and a half! That's 3 1/2 kg in just over 3 weeks! I can't believe it. Must be all the walking I did yesterday looking for stuff for tabletop fountain-making. I've got back into making them and was doing a recce for suitable materials. I used to be the world's worst hoarder. That all changed when I decided to become a gypsy at the beginning of last year and methodically got rid of stuff, including my home! The most liberating experience ever! That's why I can relate to #208 - clearing out the mess! I'm a great fan of Dr Phil so I was thrilled to hear that some of the sessions are based on his weight-loss book. #203 - Re bad habits, I like the idea of asking my subconscious mind for help in finding a replacement for the pay off. I listened to #205 on Saturday evening, but didn't get a chance to comment until now, because I attended an awesome all-day workshop the following day and relaxed when I got home, just staying in the great energy of it. The new, improved 6th session...

The correct recording for lesson 6 was super! I discovered that my reasons for overeating recently are disappointment and sadness, some irritation and occasional 'fogginess'. By the latter I mean difficulty in getting clarity about a couple of issues. Wow... what great tapping opportunities. I'm amazed that my food intake has diminished considerably. No hunger. Very Important Question

One of the most important questions you can ask is
“Does this suit my intentions?”

The word “this” refers to any choice you are making that affects your goals. In the store, when you have those cookies in your hand, ask yourself, “Does buying these suit my intentions?” If you are thinking of watching a movie rather than joining the EFT session, ask yourself “Does this choice suit my intentions?”

Let your higher self answer the question and make your best choice.

The more you ask the question, the more you will be guided by that smart voice that helps you maintain your commitment to yourself.

Gary Craig, EFT founder on what is EFT?


EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)
is a method to release negative feelings naturally.
It is an emotional form of acupressure.
With your fingertips, you tap certain energy points on your body while you are "tuned in" to your problem.

Gary Craig, the founder of EFT:

"I hope this doesn't sound too grandiose, but I've been doing energy healing work since 1991 and my jaw still drops at the results. I've lost count of the number of phobias, panic/anxiety attacks, traumatic memories, guilt, grief and physical ailments that have been elegantly relieved (often in minutes) by this procedure. Even though EFT violates just about every conventional belief out there, the results remain remarkable. EFT isn't perfect, of course. We don't get 100%. But it usually works well and the results are sometimes spectacular. It often works where nothing else will.

We are still learning why EFT works so well. It centers around the profound effects of the body's subtle energies using the theory that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system. Accordingly, EFT is an emotional form of acupuncture except that we don't use needles. Instead, we tap with the fingertips to stimulate certain meridian energy points while the client is "tuned in" to the problem.

The subtle energies that circulate throughout the body have been largely ignored (until recently) by western scientists. As a result, our use of them for emotional and spiritual healing has been sparse at best. With EFT, however, we consider these subtle energies to be the front running cause of emotional upsets. As a result, we generate results that are FAR beyond those of conventional methods."
