What about surrogate tapping, Melodie? I have read about it, and thought about it, but so far only tried it on the cat. Lol. And she's not giving me much feedback.

Thank you Aimee for your comments to my lst blog, you are very helpful. Many years ago I used to read Louis Hay's books and even went to see her out here in Oz, she was great. Thanks to your reminder I will revisit any of her books I still have (I have a huge collection of books... crazy really) Thanks to you I also get now that focus is the main thing during an EFT session... that really helps me to let go of my feelings of inadequacy... great, I am loving all this new learning and support... hope you had a good day Cheers Christina

Hi Aimee, great chatting with you. My last name is French and is pronounced as in j'taime and means 'love thee'. As for London, quite honestly I am with your husband in not wanting to go there. Every time I go back to the UK I always give London a wide birth.... I usually head for relatives in Essex or to my favourite places in Scotland or the farm I always love to hang out in at the top of the Cotswolds... When you do eventually get to London I hope you are not disappointed.... really it used to be an amazing place, but now is a shadow of it's former self.... well I think so anyway. I am waiting for my first lesson to arrive and am very excited... it is evening here in Oz and has been over 40 degrees today, that's about 104 F.... Where I live in the mountains is prone to bush fires and they are licking the bottom of the mountain, so hopefully it will rain tonight (without lightening I hope) and so the fires will be contained.... We haven't been evacuated since 1994, so all is well... Thanks once again for chatting.... hope you have a good day, Cheers Christina

HI Aimee, thank you for your warm welcome I really appreciate it. I am very excited about releasing all this excess weight I have been lugging around for years and especially about learning how to use EFT properly. I have been trying to get a handle on it for ages and something has just been stopping me (me I guess!!) So with any luck this will be a turning point for me. Hope you are doing well and look forward to following your progress too. I was born in the eastend of London and have lived over there many times over the years since I came to live in Australia permanently. It is always fun to go over there and wander around, so much to see and experience each time. Cheers for now Christina

Hey there Aimee, how are things going for you? Everything OK? I was off line for a few days while moving back into my home, post renovations. What have you been up to?

Absolutely gorgeous! At the moment my front yard is filled with building debris from the renovations I'm almost finished doing. I like yours better. :)

Hi Aimee,
Thanks for your kind words. It's nice to think that my ramblings might help someone else a bit. I made a promise to myself when I joined the group to be as honest and out there as I could be. There are a few things that I don't share but not many. It really helps me to do it, because if I'm telling lots of other people what I'm doing and how I'm feeling, it makes me stick at it and dedicate myself to improving myself. Always when I have tried to do it in the past, I've struggled on by myself for a few weeks and then just given in. Now I can't because I'm such a loud mouth here that I feel like I want to keep going. Plus lets face it, with all the fantastic people on this forum helping me out, it makes things easier. I read and enjoyed your blogs too.

I know all about having lost enough weight not to be really 'fat' any more but not really being at your optimum. I've been in that place for years (with a huge diversion off into the realms of enormousness whilst I was pregnant!) Time for us both to be brave and take those final steps. Hugs

Hi Aimee,

It's so nice to see you here! You are most welcome to our little EFT world. I'm happy for you that you have begun doing EFT. Just wait until you feel all the good stuff it can do for you!

I will be happy and honored to help you in any way I can to reach your goals. You've done a lot of work already and I know you have it in you to unravel the rest of this puzzle. You have indeed chosen a winner, EFT, to help you get there.

Here is my welcome flower for you with my warm wishes!

Hi Aimee,

A warm welcome to you! We look forward to helping you shed your extra fat and reach your other goals as well. I’m Dr. Nili’s co-administrator on this site and one of my jobs is to make sure you get your new member letters and sessions. We provide you with six special new member EFT sessions to get you started. After that you will receive the regular EFT sessions along with the other members.

I just sent you your first session. After you heard it once (or more times) post on your blog, (click on the blog tab, middle top of page, then on add a new blog, off to the right) how the first one was for you. That way you can get support from both Dr. Nili and me and others in the group. Also, if you have questions, others probably are wondering the same thing, so your post will help others too. All the way around this is a win-win situation. The sessions will continue to arrive every other day. To get the most out of this group, keep posting about your reactions & experiences to them. Also, reply to other posts that move you.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

Where do you live? City, country and time zone.
Ardeley, England, GMT
Have you tried to lose weight before? Were you successful? Totally, partially? What happened since then?
I have finally successfully lost weight. 70 lbs down since 2006. There is still some to go, but the process has taught me so much about myself, my body, nutrition and exercise and I'm ready to add EFT (and other spiritual aspects) to get to my best place.
What is your current goal weight? (Specific figure please!)
130 lbs, I say under pressure, but my goals are more body specific. I'm really not sure what the number will be, but I'm sure it will be 130 or lower.
Our goal is to lose fat while retaining our fat-burning muscle. For most people an average of a 1 pound or 500 grams per week fat loss is realistic. What is your initial 3 month goal weight?
140 lbs
For the 3 month goal weight you have chosen what would be your weekly weight loss?
.5 lbs (really thinking 5 lbs in 3 months)
EFT can help with many things. What other goals do you have for your body or habits or other aspects?
I'm looking to clear my negative emotions and resolve my lingering minor physical problems and lingering negative emotions that raise their heads periodically.
Have you ever used EFT before?
yes
We’re recommending that you participate in our group by posting to your own or to someone else’s blog. This is what gives us mutual support, a community, and encouragement! The question is, do you understand that the more regularly you post, the greater your likelihood of success?
yes
How, where or through whom did you find Lose Weight with me and EFT? We’d love to see how and where we are listed, and say thank you to the lister. If you found us through a website would you share the address with us?
Through Nili, who was on the Yahoo BFFM group.

How a Sore Throat Led to a Major Discovery

Yes, I made a major discovery this morning. Life will not be the same from here. :) Just a note, I am writing this fresh, as this all happened in the dark, early hours of this morning, not in my usual organized way with my notebook in front of me, writing out the "even though" sentences before I tap and then writing down the biggest things that came out.

Yesterday I thought I had a bit of heartburn, because of the burning in my throat, and I wasn't surprised, given the Christmas cookie and choc… Continue

Very Bad Week

As I look back on it, this week has not been good at all. My saboteur has been working full time. I breezed through PMS week, then weighed myself, and I guess I'm still reacting to that. I have been eating poorly, for many different reasons, but as I look back at it, I just seemed to be using any excuse to eat, and so many times I ate when I wasn't even hungry!

But I'm trying to be gentle with myself. :)

Also in the mix, I've been thinking about a reply I would like to write to an email I rece… Continue

Funny Tapping Round

The other day, I needed to tap on my Pain Body. I found this idea in writings of Eckhart Tolle, and it fits and works for me. Basically, we all have a pain body, that part of us that "rears its ugly head" when we are in a bad mood, or angry, etc. It gives a name and a function to our negative emotions. He also offers good ideas about dealing with it and rendering it useless. It's so closely related to Nili's ideas of my saboteur that I deal with them together, and for me it's great to have EFT t… Continue

#281 I'm in Pain

Two days ago I listened and tapped along to Nili's "I'm in pain" newsletter. I really didn't have much pain when I started. As I checked around, there was a bit in my neck and shoulder and my hip and a finger I cut. Some of this pain, (neck, shoulder and hip) is so old and ongoing, I really have to look for it. I'm become used to it.

So, I started out at a 3, then got to a 1, then I called it .5, because my cut finger still hurt.

Then, Nili talked about stubborn pain and said to ask:

1. When… Continue

Very Important Question

One of the most important questions you can ask is
“Does this suit my intentions?”

The word “this” refers to any choice you are making that affects your goals. In the store, when you have those cookies in your hand, ask yourself, “Does buying these suit my intentions?” If you are thinking of watching a movie rather than joining the EFT session, ask yourself “Does this choice suit my intentions?”

Let your higher self answer the question and make your best choice.

The more you ask the question, the more you will be guided by that smart voice that helps you maintain your commitment to yourself.

Gary Craig, EFT founder on what is EFT?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)
is a method to release negative feelings naturally.
It is an emotional form of acupressure.
With your fingertips, you tap certain energy points on your body while you are "tuned in" to your problem.

Gary Craig, the founder of EFT:

"I hope this doesn't sound too grandiose, but I've been doing energy healing work since 1991 and my jaw still drops at the results. I've lost count of the number of phobias, panic/anxiety attacks, traumatic memories, guilt, grief and physical ailments that have been elegantly relieved (often in minutes) by this procedure. Even though EFT violates just about every conventional belief out there, the results remain remarkable. EFT isn't perfect, of course. We don't get 100%. But it usually works well and the results are sometimes spectacular. It often works where nothing else will.

We are still learning why EFT works so well. It centers around the profound effects of the body's subtle energies using the theory that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system. Accordingly, EFT is an emotional form of acupuncture except that we don't use needles. Instead, we tap with the fingertips to stimulate certain meridian energy points while the client is "tuned in" to the problem.

The subtle energies that circulate throughout the body have been largely ignored (until recently) by western scientists. As a result, our use of them for emotional and spiritual healing has been sparse at best. With EFT, however, we consider these subtle energies to be the front running cause of emotional upsets. As a result, we generate results that are FAR beyond those of conventional methods."
